Abstract
In recent years, there has been a push to introduce coding and computational thinking in early childhood education. In the initial teaching training, it is necessary to know how to integrate these disciplines and technologies in teachings activities, in order to promote the development of competencies in students. With the aim of introducing technology in an appropriate way in the teaching and learning processes, this paper presents the design and validation of an evaluation rubric based on the TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) model, which allows preschool pre-service teachers to know if they accurately apply the curricular and technological objectives; the strategies of pedagogical use and the management of technology, for their future student programming acquisition. The rubric is made up of 12 items, grouped into 3 dimensions, with 4 indicators of different components and each indicator is scored into 4 levels of achievement. It has been applied to 23 teaching proposals using ScratchJr, applied on a specific context (the Sustainable Development Goals) which have received 336 ratings from 90 students and 3 teachers. The results show a good degree of reliability with a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.818 and an excellent inter-judge agreement of CCI=0.818. The rubric becomes a reliable and rigorous assessment instrument.
