Abstract

It is analyzed a set of fibula’s bridges and springs coming from La Osera’s necropolis (Ávila), and from the archaeological sites of Las Cogotas (Ávila) and El Cerro del Berrueco (Salamanca), belonging to rare spring systems in the Iberian Peninsula. Two springs known as “double loop” are identified, which from the parallels and the fibulae of the archaeological site, are associated with cylindrical tower models, very common in the vetonian area, and four bridges with perforated head that probably correspond to riveted springs, implying that these fibulae are made in two pieces. These are square-elevated foot fibulae, associated with military attachments in all cases for which we know context. Their scarcity may be due to their fragility, which entails their quickly replacement by the classic two pieces springs.
