Abstract

This book presents the final corrected and revised version of all the articles written by the autor between 1983 and 2010 related to the organization, celebration and performance of the Mystery Play of Elche. It includes twenty different texts of a historical, narrative or journalistic nature presented in chronological order. Most of them were published in newspapers and journals or used as prologues or epilogues for different books; other texts are unpublished or have been completed for this edition. This collection or articles presents a sensitive and critical vision of some aspects of Spanish society in the final years of the 20th Century and the early years of the 21th Century. It could also be a testimony to the democratic and cultural revival in Spain, which, despite being and important event, was ephemeral and problematic
